Indian Premier League 2026 or TATA IPL 2026 is over now. It was the 19th edition of the tournament. This prestigious T20 cricket championship is organised by BCCI. Royal Challengers Bengaluru ( RCB ) was the defending champion and they achieved the crown again this year. They defeated Gujarat Titans ( GT ) in the final by five wickets in the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 31st May to grab the title. RCB won the toss and elected to bowl . Gujarat Titans scored 155/8 in 20 overs. Washington Sundar scored 50 runs in 37 balls for GT . All the bowlers bowled beautifully for RCB. Rasikh Salam took 3 wickets in 4 overs and conceded just 27 runs. In reply RCB scored 161/5 in 18 overs and did the job. Virat Kohli scored 75 runs not out in just 42 balls and guided them towards the victory. Rashid Khan took 2/25 in his 4 overs. Virat Kohli achieved the award of the Player of the Match. Kagiso Rabada from Gujarat Titans achieved the Purple Cap by taking most wickets (29 wickets )  in the tournament. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from Rajasthan Royals achieved five awards – Orange Cap for scoring most runs in the tournament ( 776 runs ) , Most Valuable player award, Emerging Player of the tournament award, Highest Batting Strike rate award, Most sixes award. Sai Sudarshan from Gujarat Titans achieved the award for hitting most sixes in the tournament. Mohammad Siraj achieved the award for bowling the most number of dot balls. Manish Pandey from KKR achieved the award for taking the Catch of the season. The Best Pitch award went to Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Punjab Kings achieved the Fairplay award.
