The Women ‘s Premier League or WPL 2026 is over now. It was the 4th season of the tournament. This T20 cricket tournament is organised by the BCCI or Board of Control for Cricket in India. 5 teams participated in this franchise based tournament. It took place from 9th January to 5th February. Royal Challengers Bengaluru became the champion this season by defeating Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets in the final on 5th February in the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium , Vadodara. It is their second title. In the final Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and elected to field. Delhi Capitals scored 203/4 in their 20 overs. Jemimah Rodrigues, the skipper of Delhi Capitals scored highest runs ( 57 runs in 37 balls ) for them and Arundhati Reddy (1/40) was the best among the bowlers of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In reply Royal Challengers Bengaluru chased down successfully by scoring 204/4 in 19.4 overs. Smriti Mandhana, the captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored highest runs ( 87 in 41 balls ) for them . Chinelle Henry( 2/34)was the top among the bowlers of Delhi Capitals.Smriti Mandhana became the Player of the Match in the final. She also achieved the Orange Cap by scoring most runs in the tournament ( 377 runs ) . Sophie Devine from Gujarat Giants and Nandani Sharma from Delhi Capitals took the most number of wickets in the tournament (17 wickets ) and they achieved the Purple Cap. Sophie Devine from Gujarat Giants became the Most Valuable Player for her all round performance by taking 17 wickets and scoring 243 runs in the tournament.
