Spain is now the winner of the UEFA Euro 2024. They achieved it by defeating England in the final by 2 goals to 1 in at Olympiastadion , Berlin in Germany on 14th July ( 15th July as per IST ) . It is their fourth Euro title and more than any other football playing nation in Europe. Germany hosted the tournament this year and it was the 17th edition of the tournament. The official UEFA Euro 2024 mascot was a teddy bear with shorts on and named as ‘Albart’. Total 24 nations participated and were divided into 6 groups. Among them Spain, England, France and Netherlands reached the Semi-finals. In the Semi-finals Spain defeated France and England beat Netherlands. The final was very exciting. Williams scored first goal for Spain in the 47th minute of the match and Palmer scored the equaliser for England in the 73rd minute of the match. Oyarzabal scored the winning goal for Spain in the 86th minute of the match. Lamile Yamal became the youngest player to play in Euro at 16 years and 338 days when he played Spain’s first group match against Croatia . He also became the youngest footballer to score a goal in the UEFA Euro Cup at 16 years and 362 days when he scored a goal against France in the Semi – final . He became the best young player of the tournament. Rodri of Spain became the best player of the tournament.
