Indian Women’s Kho Kho team became the champion of the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup by defeating Nepal on 19th January, 2025 , Sunday at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi with a dominant 78-40 points victory .India hosted the tournament. Indian women played with great skill , speed and strategy to win the first ever Kho Kho World Cup. Skipper Priyanka Ingle led the side from the front. Indian Women’s team defeated South Korea, Iran and Malaysia in the group stages . Then beat Bangladesh in the quarterfinals and South Africa in the semifinals.
After the Indian Women’s team, Indian Men’s team also won the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup by beating Nepal 54-36 in the final at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on 19th January, 2025, Sunday. Captain Pratik Waikar and tournament’s standout player Ramji Kashyap lead from the front. The Indian Men’s team played outstandingly throughout the tournament. They defeated Brazil, Peru and Bhutan in the group stages. Then beat Bangladesh in the quarterfinals and a strong South African team in the semifinals.
