Arjuna Award, facts and list-
1.Arjuna Awrd is given to the outstanding achievers in sports in India.
2. The Award is provided by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and sponsored by Government of India.
3. The Award was started in 1961.
4. The Award includes cash prize of Rs. 500000 , a bronze statue of Arjun and a scroll.
5. From 2011 the award is given for the disciplines falling under- Olympic Games/ Asian Games/ Commonwealth Games/ world Cup/ World Championship Disciplines and Cricket, Indigenous Games, Sports for the Physically Challenged.
6. Now as per Government guidelines a sportsperson performing consistently for the last three years at the international level and excellence for the year for which the Award is going to be announced and also having the qualities like Sense of Discipline, Leadership and Sportsmanship can be nominated for this Award.

Bhamidipati Sai Praneeth- Badminton, 11. Pramod Bhagat- Para Sports -Badminton, 12. Anjum Moudgil- Shooting, 13. Harmeet Rajul Desai- Table Tennis, 14. Pooja Dhanda- Wrestling, 15. Fouaad Mirza – Equestrian, 16. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu-Football, 17. Poonam Yadav- Cricket, 18. Simran Singh Shergill- Polo, 19.
