The Government of West Bengal is providing Scholarships to meritorious students of economically backward families in the West Bengal to pursue their higher studies.
Students will get this scholarship for the study in class xi, xii, UG or Graduation level courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Medical, , Technical and Professional courses, PG level Arts, Science, Commerce, Technical, Management courses, Polytechnic , Non NET M. Phil and Non NET Ph.D courses.
Candidates having family income not more than Rs. 2,50,000 /- per annum will be judged according to their academic merit.
Some information about this Scholarship –
- For H.S – Students need to get 60% marks in the last Qualifying Exam- Amount of scholarship – Rs. 1000/- per month
- For UG Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Medical Degree and Diploma, Polytechnic – Atleast 60% marks in last Qualifying Exam . -Scholarship amount per month- UG Arts, Commerce – Rs. 1000/- , UG Science, Polytechnic and Diploma – Rs. 1500/- , UG Engineering and Medical – Rs. 5000/- .
- For UG other Professional courses , UGC approved – 60% marks in last Qualifying Exam. – Scholarship amount per month – Rs. 1500/-
- For PG Arts, Commerce, Science – 53% for SVMCM and 45% for Kanyashree (K3) applicants in last Qualifying Exam. – Scholarship amount per month – for PG Arts, Commerce – Rs. 2000/- and for PG Science – Rs. 2500/- .
- For PG other Professional courses ,UGC approved – 53% marks in last Qualifying Exam. – Scholarship amount per month – Rs. 2500/-
- For PG Engineering and other professional courses ( AICTE approved ) – 55 % in Graduation from any State University / AICTE approved institute in West Bengal – Scholarship amount per month – Rs. 5000/-.
- For Non NET M.Phil / Non NET Ph.D – Date of enrolnent or Date of Registration not before 01.04.2017 – Rs. 5000/- and Rs. 8000/- per month respectively.
