SAFF Championship 2023 – Current English, Reading Skills,Comprehension, Writing Skills

SAFF ( South Asian Football Federation) 2023 is just over now . It was the 14th edition of the championship . which was held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium , Bengaluru , India from 21st June to 4 th July 2023. Total eight countries participated in the championship. India , the host country became the champion by defeating Kuwait in the final . India achieved the trophy for the highest number of times , for the 9th time. In the semi-final Kuwait defeated Bangladesh by 1-0 to reach the final and India defeated Lebanon by 4-2 in penalties to reach the final. In the final the match was drawn in regulation time and extra time for 1-1 . Khaldi scored the goal for Kuwait and Chhangte scored for India. In the penalty shootout India defeated Kuwait by 5-4 . Indian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu played a crucial role by saving two penalties in the semi-final and one in the final . Indian skipper Sunil Chhetri scored the most number of goals ( five goals ) and also became the Most Valuable Player of the Championship. Indian coach Igor Stimac guided the team perfectly. Anisur Rahman Zico of Bangladesh achieved the Goalkeeper of the championship award and Nepal achieved the Fair Play award.
