Supreme Court of India unveiled new Lady Justice statue – without blindfold – open eyed – wearing saree –  instead of Western robe – the Constitution replaced the sword in one hand of the statue – the new one is representing more Indian tradition – open eyes of the statue symbolizes that law is not blind in India – it is also a step to leave the colonial legacy and influences – the statue was commissioned at the order of the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud – the statue is now established in the Judges’ Library of the Supreme Court of India
