Educational Stats and Facts— 105 years or 96 years age! Students still made records.

Bhageerathi Amma of Kerala had cleared 4th standad equivalency exam. at the age of 105 years. She has become the oldest student of Kerala State Literacy Mission and oldest to pass this standard exam . She has scored 205 out of full marks of 275.She had scored 74.5 % marks and secured 75 out of 75 in Math. She told the that she want to complete level 10 equivalency exam when the Director of the Kerala Literacy Mission visited her house to congratulate her.

96 years old Karthiyani Amma secured the first rank with 98 % marks in ‘AkshraLaksham’, a flagship programme of Kerala State Literacy Mission. A laptop was gifted to her by the Education Minister of Kerala.Even the representatives from Commonwealth visited her house in to honour her.

For both of them age was not a barrier to achieve their dream. Both of them were awarded ‘Nari Shakti Puraskar’ this year by the President of India on 8th March.

They have set up an example. We must get a lesson from them.

Ranji Trophy 2020

Bengal’s hope of winning Ranji Trophy after 1989-90 was ended despite a draw in final of Ranji Trophy this year against Saurashtra at Rajkot. Bengal reached in final after thirteen years but failed . They have appeared in final for fortinth times but won in just two times and lost the final fir twelve times, most by any team.

Saurashtra started their journey in Ranji Trophy in their present name from 1950-51 and they have done it this time to get their maiden Ranji Trophy , led by their captain Jaydev Unadkat. They have scored 425 runs in the first innings and restricted Bengal for 381 runs and took a lead of 44 runs. This lead gave them the trophy despite the match ended as a draw.

NTA or National Testing Agency – Mock Tests and Other Facilities for Students

National Testing Agency (NTA) is a body to conduct all India level Entrance Exams in Medical,BDS, Engineering, Management,Hotel Management, University Entranced,NET etc. They have initiated a facility for the students to take mock tests for different types of Exams.

Purpose of this initiative– With this initiative students will be able to -1.know the pattern and system of tests. 2.Students will be able to be familiar with computerized tests. 3.This will give them a good practice. 4.They can appear in offline mock tests. 5.They can also opt for TPC or Test Practice Centre.

How to register-To get this facilities students need to register for this with their mobile number and password. Then when they will take mock tests they will need to log with this password.

Facilities-1.Students will be able to appear in online mock tests. 2.They will be able to take the option of offline mock tests. 3.They will be able to appear in Test Practice Centres.

Other Facilities-1.Students can also download previous year’s questions for practice. 2.On line lectures-Students will be able to get online lectures from experts in different subjects for doubt clearing and preperations.

HISTORY OF INVENTIONS

The Smallpox Vaccine–

A history was created when English Physician Edward Jenner invented the vaccine of smallpox in the year of 1796. He used material of cowpox to increase immunity of people and to make them cure from smallpox.

He used it for the first time to James Phipps, a 8 years old boy of his gardener. He also used it to his own 11 months boy .Then he used his innovation successfully for several cases. This was very helpful for the history of Medical Sciences. It is recognised as the first invention of vaccine and Jenner is recognised as father of immunology.
