Exam Name – JEPBN or Joint Entrance
for Post Basic Nursing Course . A Common Entrance Test .
Organised by – West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board
Eligibility – 1. Must be citizen of India.
2. Applicant must be domicile of West Bengal.
3. Gender – Male / Female
4. They must pass 10+2 level examination from any recognised Board and must pass the GNM course from the institute recognised by Indian Nursing Council and obtained registration / RNRM certificate from the State Nursing Council of any State of India.
5. Upper age limit – i. 53 completed years ( for 2023-24 session, as on 31.12.2023 ) for the candidates presently employed by the West Bengal State Government.
ii . No upper age limit for others ( Including ESI and Central Government employees ) .
iii. At the time of admission, the candidates presently employed by the West Bengal State Government will have to follow the then applicable TR rules of the WB State Government.
6. Work Experience –
i. The candidates presently employed by the West Bengal State Government must have at least 3 years’ qualifying uninterrupted / regularized experience in Govt. service as on the last date of application.
ii. Work experience is not essential for others ( including ESI and Central Government employees )
Syllabus – The paper will be based on the syllabus of GNM and will have two parts –
1. Part A – Anatomy, Physiology, Sociology, Psychology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Nutrition, Pathology – 40 questions.
2. Part B – Foundation of Nursing , Medical Surgical Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing , Obstetrical Nursing, Community Health Nursing – 60 questions.
Exam Pattern – 1. MCQ type questions.
2. 100 questions in two parts .
3. Time – 90 minutes.
4. Marks – 100
5. Language – English
6. Also there will be negative marking of 1/4 or 25% marks for each question for wrong answer or for more than one option chosen in any question.
