Japan’s Sake – is now added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list

Japan’s iconic rice wine , sake is now enlisted in the UNESCO’S list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It was recognised on Wednesday, 11th December , 2024 . Sake is integral to Japan’s culture and heritage. It is a recognition to the thousand year old Japanese brewing tradition and it’s attachment to the Japanese ceremonies . It is a quintessential Japanese drink which is brewed in traditional breweries. It is processed from the locally grown rice through a process of steaming, fermenting and pressing . It takes almost over two months to be produced.
