The 18th edition of the IPL or Indian Premier League is over. Royal Challengers Bengaluru ( RCB ) has won the title. A long wait for Virat Kohli and his squad has ended. They won their first ever trophy by defeating Punjab Kings ( PBKS ) in the final by 6 runs on 3rd of May in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Their new captain Rajat Patidar also led the team well. PBKS’s skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first. RCB scored 190/9 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored 43 runs in 35 balls for RCB and Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson both took 3 wickets for PBKS. In reply PBKS scored 184 /7 in 20 overs. Shashank Singh scored 61 runs in just 30 balls and tried his best to win the game but failed. Both Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets for RCB. Krunal Pandya bowled beautifully to take 2 wickets for only 17 runs in his 4 overs. He became the Player of the Match in the final. Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians was chosen for the Player of the Season award. Emerging Player of the Season award went to Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Titans. He also achieved the Fantasy King of the Season award. He also achieved the Orange Cap for scoring most runs in the tournament (759 runs ). Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans achieved the Purple Cap for taking the most number of wickets ( 25 wickets). Super Sixes of the Season award went to Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow SuperGiants. On the go Fours of the season award went to Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Titans. Most dot balls of the season award went to Mohammad Siraj of Gujarat Titans. Catch of the Season award was achieved by Kamindu Mendis of Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Fair Play Award went to Chennai Super Kings.
