International Mathematics Olympiad- India’s Super Performance

International Mathematics Olympiad – India made history – ranked 4th among 108 participating countries – 609 students participated – it is a World Championship Mathematics Competition for High school students – held every year since 1959 – this year it was held in Bath, United Kingdom – a team of six high school students from India – they are Rushil Mathur, Ananda Bhaduri, Aditya Mangudi Venkata Ganesh, Kanav Talwar , Arjun Gupta and Siddharth Choppara – among them Rushil Mathur, Ananda Bhaduri, Aditya Mangudi Venkata Ganesh and Kabav Talwar achieved individual gold medal – Arjun Gupta achieved silver medal – Siddharth Choppara received an honorable mention – team scored 167 points – under leadership of Professor Krishnan Suvasubramanian ( IIT, Bombay) – deputy leader was Rijul Saini ( former IMO Medalist of HBCSE or Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education) – it is country’s best ever performance – USA secured the first position – China finished at second position and followed by South Korea at third position
