27 years of waiting for South Africa has ended now. Last time South Africa won an ICC  Trophy in 1998 by winning the Champions Trophy.South African international men’s cricket team won the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 by defeating Australia in the final at Lord’s, London from 11th to 14th June, 2025. It was the 3rd edition of the tournament. It is their first ICC Test World Championship. South Africa won the match by 5 wickets. South African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to field. Australia was all out and  scored 212 in their first innings . Beau Webster scored 72 runs for them . Kagiso Rabada of South African took 5 wickets and conceded 51 runs. In reply South Africa was all out in just 138 runs. David Bedingham scored 45 runs for them. Australian skipper Pat Cummins took 6 wickets and conceded just 28 runs. South African was 74 runs behind. But Australia was all out in the second innings again and scored just 207. Mitchell Starc scored 58 not out for them. Kagiso Rabada took 4 wickets for 59 runs this time. South African team came back really well. They needed 282 runs to win the match. They scored 282/ 5 and win the match. Aiden Markram scored 136 runs in the second innings . Their captain Temba Bavuma also played a crucial innings and scored 66 runs . Mitchell Starc took 3 wickets for 66 runs for Australia but it wasn’t enough. Aiden Markram was chosen Player of the Match.
