Indian women boxer produced a moment for triumph for the country . In IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023, Indian women brought four gold medals for the country. It was the 13th edition of the competition. The Championship was held in New Delhi from 15th to 26th of March at K. D. Jadhav Indoor Hall. India, the host nation performed tremendously to ranked top in medal rally. Nitu Ghanghas won her gold medal in 48kg category , Nikhat Zareen won her gold medal in 50kg category, Lovlina Borgohain achieved her gold medal in 75kg category, Saweety Boora achieved her gold medal in 81kg category. Nikhat Zareen won gold for second consecutive year and she beat Nguyem Thi Tam of Vietnam in the final. Lovlina also won bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics and she defeated Caitlin Parker of Australia in the final to win her first IBA Women’s World Boxing gold . Nitu Ghanghas who won medal in 2022 Commonwealth Games, also achieved her gold here by beating Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg of Mongolia . Three times Asian medallist Saweety Boora won her gold by defeating Wang Lina of China in the final . They were rewarded with $100,000 in prize money for World Champions in their respective category . Whole country is feeling pride .
