Mohammedan Sporting achieved their maiden crown of I – League . Finally their wait came to an end on 6th April , 2024 by winning the title for 2023-24 season . They had done it by defeating Shillong Lajong FC by 2-1 in the away match at the SSA Stadium. Alexis Nahuel Gomez scored for the champion in the very first minute. Douglas Rosa Tardin of Shillong Lajong FC equalized in the 15th minute of the match .Then in the second half of the match, Evgeni Kozlov scored for the Black and White Brigade to secure the win . They needed just one point to secure the title. But after a thrilling match they achieved it with a win. Mohammedan Sporting Club will join Mohun Bagan and East Bengal in the ISL 2024 – 25 . It will be a great achievement for them and a moment of joy and pride for Kolkata and those football lovers of West Bengal.
