In almost every type of competitive exams English is very essential part. For Exams like UPSC, STATE CIVIL SERVICES, SSC, CDS, BANKING etc. English is very much an important part.
Generally two types of knowledge are tested in English in those Exams—–1)MCQ or objective 2)Descriptive English. Mainly descriptive type is essential in Main Exam.
Students have to remember that-
1. English is not easy to score high .
2.So an average marks is enough for this.
3.They must not take so much risks for negative marking.

6. To get success in English a good knowledge in sentence formation,Tense, Voice,Narration, Different types of sentences, Antonym, Synonym, Group verbs, Sentence Correction,Use of Preposition and Articles, proverbs are needed.
7. For descriptive type English Comprehension,Unseen,Writing Skills like-Letter Writing,Notice, Report,Precis,Application,Essay Writing are needed.
8.A good skill in Regional Language to English translation is also essential.
9. Reading Comprehension is very much important, because a good skill in reading and understanding the English words and sentences is needed.
10. Not only that current English is also essential like Current subjects,Words etc.
11. For this a study of English Grammar for class ix,x,xi,xii is very helpful.
12. Practice sets and previous questions are also helpful.
13. Practicing and reading English News Paper is also needed.
14. Overall a good sense of understanding or guessing the meaning is also essential, even you don’t know the meaning properly, because one can’t know every meaning.
