It is a dream for many students to crack Indian Civil Service through which they can join Indian Administrative Service,Indian Police Service,Indian Foreign Service,Indian Postal Service,Indian Information and Broadcast Service,Indian Revenue Service,Indian Railway Service etc.But to be successful the students need to follow a good plan throughout the journey and the conscious gurdians need to be helpful also.We are discussing the following points for the success of this all India level Exam.————-
1.Gathering information and setting the goal-If a student want to be ICS he or she need to gather informations in details about the syllabus,subjects,optional papers,job descriptions,interview procedure etc.Then they must set their goal and plan from beginning.For this website of https://www.upsc.gov.in/
2.Starting the journey-The journey should be start as early as possible and mindset is very important because early failure need to be managed properly.With their study in H.S. and College level they need to study their syllabus minutely which can give them primary base in science and social studies.They also need to collect general knowledge and current knowledge regularly which will do their tasks easy in later stage.
3.Proper Planning-A good routine and time schedule for study of different papers are very useful because extensive study is essential.
4.Full preparation after 10+2-After completing 10+2 students need to continue study for ICS with their graduation simultaniously.If they can read atleast 3 to 4 hours a day for this exam with their graduation course then after completing their Bachelor degree they will be ready and comfortable for their ICS exam.
5.Benefit after Graduation-With a hard work for simultanious study with graduation for this exam they will be able to compete in all other All India Level exam and for their State Level Civil Service Exam with minimum effort.
6.Attending seminars and workshops-This will give them a great confidence on how to prepare and crack the Exam.Some Institution organize this type of seminars for the students.
7.Studying magazines ,journals and current events-By this a good knowledge on current news,current English,Writings and Comprehensions,recent advancements in Technology,Science,Politics,Economy and Environment will be gathered by the students.
8.Proper Training-A good and proper training particularly for this Exam will help very much.Some renowned all India level Institution provide expert training and guiance on that matter.Self study and group study is also necessary for this.
9.Good books-This is very important to follow not only the good books but also appropriate books.Research over internet can provide good information on some topics.Study materials and books of NCERT and IGNOU are very helpful.For optional papers books of Honours or Masters are helpul,for Indian Geography,World Geography,Indian History,Politics and Economy books for graduation level are always helpful.For basic knowledge at least books for H.S. are needed .
10.Subject combination and optional-It is very important to study both Science and Social Science extensively and minutely for this Exam.Not only a good knowledge and practice in Reasoning,GI, Arithmetics , Indian History.Politics,Constitution,Economy,Fifth Year Plan,Indian Geography.Physical Geography.Science,Technology,Environment,Aptitude Test are enough for sucess but also a wise choice of optional paper is also needed.They can choose subjects they studied in Graduation or Masters or they can choose any other subject also which can give them a good score .For this they need to see the syllabus in details and They need to collect resources for that.
11.Time and patience-It has to remember that preparing for Civil Service is not shortcut and quick.They need to provide enough time and hard work for their success .
12.Not hard but collective-Students need to understand that success in this examis not so hard but it need a collective process.Students nee to gather many information on different topics.They don’t need to be so brilliant, they don’t need to become expert in everything but they need to get some information at least on many dimensions.
13.Not wasting the effort-It has to be remember students will get very few chance (4 times) to seat in this exam.So every time they seat they must prepare properly and appear seriously because they must understand success in this exam will make them topmost officers in the country and will bring great future for them.
14.Mock test and Interview-Attending Mock Tests and mock interviews will help them very much.
15.Help from Family-Family should understand the dream of their child and they need to know that the procedure is not quick and easy,it need huge time also.So family need to support and provide enough time for the students.It will be far better if family also have same dream.Then they can join the plan and journey with their child to make their path easy.
