Grandmaster D.Gukesh – Youngest ever to reach the final of World Chess Championship

History created by D. Gukesh . At the age of just 17 years , he became the youngest player ever to reach the final of the World Chess Championship. He is from Chennai and achieved many milestones already in his career . He also became the youngest grandmaster of India at the age of just 12 years , 7 months and 17 days and broke Viswanathan Anand’s record. He also made history by winning the FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2024 , held in Toronto . He became the second Indian player after Viswanathan Anand to win this prestigious title . In the final round, Gukesh was playing with black piecel against Hikaru Nakamura and was able to make a draw . That secured a win for him which was enough to win the title with an impressive total of 9/14 points. This win secured his spot in the final of the World Chess Championship where he will play against Ding Liren of China . Recently Viswanathan Anand appreciated his approach of playing against human trainers rather than computer engines. This habit  was fruitful for him. He also recently became India’s top ranked chess player .
