G20 or Group of Twenty meeting 2023 is over now. It was the 18th edition of the meeting. India hosted the meeting very successfully. It was held on 9th and 10th September, 2023 in Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The theme was Vasudhaiva Kurumbakam or One Earth, One Family, One Future. It was chaired by the Indian Prime Minister , Shri Narendra Modi.

Some important outcomes of the meeting –
Launch of Global Biofuel Alliance or GBA to promote the development and adaptation of sustainable biofuels and set relevant standards and certification .
The New Delhi Leaders Declaration was adopted with consensus – It was adopted unanimously by all 20 members on 10th September, 2023 . It is an official non- binding declaration that was taken for strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth. G20 leaders promised to –
Fulfil the 2030 agenda with full and effective implementation.
Reduce GHG emissions.
Provide easier access to medical care and supplies.
Offer wider access to digital infrastructure.
Close the gender gap.
All the leaders accepted that threat or use of force to seek territorial acquisition against the territorial integrity and sovereignty or political independence of any state must be prohibited. Also use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible.
The African Union joined G20 as a permanent member .
A joint agreement was made by a group of countries to build a rail and shipping corridor to link India with the Middle – East and Europe. It is called India – Middle East – Europe – Economic Corridor. The group comprises India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Israel and the European Union.
