French Open 2024 – The Roland Garros Action – The Clay Court Story – Current English

French Open 2024 is over now. It is a Grand Slam tennis tournament which is played on clay courts of Stade Roland Garros, Paris, France. It was the 123rd edition of the tournament.

In this season Carlos Alcaraz ( Spain ) won the Men’s singles by defeating Alexander Zevrev ( Germany ) by 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 .  It is his third Grand Slam title. He is now also the youngest player to win a Grand Slam in three different court surfaces.

In women’s singles Iga Swiatek ( Republic of Poland ) defended her title and won the crown again by beating Jasmine Paolini ( Italy ) by 6-2, 6-1 in the final. It is her fifth Grand Slam title and third consecutive French Open title.

In Men’s doubles Marcelo Arevalo ( Republic of El Salvador ) and Mate Pavic ( Croatia ) defeated Italian duo Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in the final by 7-5, 6-3 to win the title.

In Women’s doubles Coco Gauff ( USA ) and Katerina Siniakova ( Czech Republic ) defeated Italian duo Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini in the final by 7-6 ( 7-5 ), 6-3 to win the title. Coco Gauff is now the youngest player in 19 years to win both a singles and a doubles Grand Slam title. Before this title she won the US Open Singles title in 2023.

In Mixed Doubles Laura Siegemund
( Germany )  and Edouard Roger – Vasselin
( France ) defeated Desirae Krawczyk
( USA ) and Neal Skupski ( UK ) by 6-4, 7-5 in the final to win the title.
