Courses and Admission –
1 . Integrated 5-year MSc Programme-
After 12th or equivalent in Science
Admission Process –
The admissions for the Integrated 5-year Master’s Programme are conducted via National Entrance Screening Test (NEST), the pan-India test that NISER and CEBS, Mumbai jointly conduct for intake of students into the flagship Integrated MSc programme of these institutions. Intake time – single intake per academic year in July-August.
2 . 2-year MSc Programme in ‘Medical & Radiological Physics’ + 1 year internship–
After Bachelor’s Degree with Physics as main/major
Admission Process –
The admissions for the 2-year Master’s Programme are done via JAM/ JEST followed by written test and/or interview. More details can be found on the CMRP website. The curriculum includes 1 year mandatory internship in collaborating hospitals after completion of 2-year course.
Intake time – single intake per academic year in July-August.
3. PhD & Integrated PhD Programmes–

Admission Process –
The admissions to the PhD programme & Integrated MSc+PhD programme at NISER are conducted in various steps. First step involves an open call by the institute, followed by shortlisting based on the eligibility criteria of the respective schools and/or scores in the national examinations such as CSIR-UGC-NET/ GATE/ JEST/ GPAT/ DBT/ ICMR/ JGEEBILS. This is followed by written tests and/or interviews conducted by respective schools. Each school has different eligibility criteria for PhD admissions.
Intake time –
PhD programme has two intakes per academic year – Summer in July and Winter in January sessions.
Certification –
The certificates are awarded by Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Mumbai.
