Exam Talk – MAT or Management Aptitude Test

MAT or Management Aptitude Test

Conducted by – All India Management Association ( AIMA )

Purpose – MAT Examination is used for the admission in MBA or allied courses in over 600 business schools across India.

Exam level – National

Recognition – The test was started in 1998. This test is recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2003.

Eligibility – Graduate or final year student of graduation. No minimum marks required.

Language of the test – English

Schedule of the Examination – The examination is conducted four times in a year – February, May , September, December

Structure of the Examination
Section 1 – Language Comprehension – 30 questions – Reading Comprehension, Patajumbles, Fill in the blanks, One word substitution, Sentence Correction, Verbal Ability, Antonyms and Synonyms, Idioms & Phrases , etc.

Section 2 – Intelligence and Critical Reasoning – 30 questions -. Blood Relation, Family Tree, Coding & Decoding, Numeric Grid, Syllogism, Clocks, Calendars, Visual Reasoning, etc.

Section 3 – Mathematical Skills – 30 questions – Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Number System, Percentage,LCM & HCF, Inequalities, Set Theory, etc.

Section 4 – Data Analysis and Sufficiency – 30 questions – Tables, Charts, Pie Charts, Bar Diagrams, Caselet – based Data, Venn Diagram, Graphs, Data Comparison, Data Sufficiency, etc

Section 5 – Economic and Business Environment – 30 questions – Economy and Business related questions

Total questions – 150

Total time – 120 minutes

Score validity – one year. Best score among  multiple attempts is considered.
