Every year World Post Day is celebrated on 9th October. It is celebrated to commemorate the establishment of UPU or Universal Postal Union in 1874. UPU is a specialized agency of United Nations and was established by the treaty of Bern.
First time it was celebrated in 1969. The day is celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of postal sector.
The theme for 2022 will be ” Post for Planet .”
