A historical moment was created when India played their first ever international day night pink ball test match at Eden Gardens,Kolkata against Bangladesh,on 22nd November,2019.The initiative was taken after Saurav Ganguly’,The Prince if Calcutta’ became the president of BCCI. The environment, stadium and surroundings were decorated with pink. In the opening day the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Shekh Hasina , the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Officials ,former cricketers and many celebraties were present there.The captain of Bangladesh ,Mominul Hoque won the toss and elected to bat first. But against the fierce attack of Indian Pace trio ,Ishant Sharma,Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, their batting line up was broken down quickly ,when they all out for just 106 runs in 1st innings. Ishant Sharma took five wickets.In run chasing w inith the help of Indian captain Virat Kohl’s 136 runs India declared their innings in 347/9. In second innings except Mushfiqur Rahim’s fighting 74, Bangladesh innings collapsed in 195/9.Mahamadullah was retired heart and did not came to bat. India recorded their win with an innings and 46 runs. In second innings Umesh Yadav took his five wickets and Ishant took four. Ishant Sharma was declared man of the match and man of the series. India won the series by 2 nil against Bangladesh and it has become the 7th consecutive test winnings for the Indian test team.
