Durga Puja and World Heritage Recognition – Current English

Durga Puja in Kolkata was inscribed on the “Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity ” by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO ). We are all proud of that. The five day festival of West Bengal is now get a global recognition by UNESCO. According to UNESCO it is the only Indian festival to be enlisted this year among twenty events and traditional activities. In Paris, On 15th December , Wednesday the 16th Committee of UNESCO for safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage inscribed Durga Puja on this list.
