Durand Cup 2025

North East United achieved the Durand Cup title 2025 ( Indian Oil Durand Cup ) by defeating Diamond Harbour in the final by 6-1 at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Salt Lake, Kolkata on 23rd August 2025.  It was the 134th edition of the tournament and it is the oldest football tournament in Asia. The tournament is hosted by Durand Football Tournament Society , Supported by Asian Football Confederation and co – operated by AIFF, Eastern Command of the Indian Armed Forces and Government of West Bengal. Also supported by Governments of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Jharkhand. Total 24 teams were participated. The tournament had the sponsorship ties with the Indian Oil Corporation and powered by SBI and Coal India Limited .  North East United was the defending champion and they did it again. It is their second Durand title. The goal scorers for them were – Akhter, Gogoi, Ngasepam, Samperio, Rodriguez and Ajaraie. Only goal for Diamond Harbour was scored by Majcen.  North East United defeated Shillong Lajong bt 1-0 in the semifinal. Diamond Harbour defeated East Bengal by 2-1 in the semifinal . Alaadine Ajaraie became the Man of the match in the final. He also scored most number of goals ( 7 goals ) in the tournament and achieved the Golden Boot award. He also achieved the Golden Ball award for becoming the best Player of the tournament. Golden Glove award was achieved by Gurmeet Singh of North East United for being the best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
