1 . Both of these are modal verbs. ‘Will’ is basically used in Future and Present Tense but ‘ Would ‘ is used in Past and Present Tense .
Examples –
I will do it tomorrow. ( Future Tense ).
Will you take a break now ? ( Present Tense )
She planned that she would assist you in the meeting . ( Past Tense)
Would you like to take a break now? ( Present Tense )
2 . ‘ Will ‘ is used to indicate real and certain event but ‘ Would ‘ is used to unreal and uncertain event .
Examples – I will be there in time.
I would like to be there .
3 . ‘ Will ‘ is used to ask something with lack of politeness but ‘ Would ‘ is used to ask something with more politeness.
Examples – Will you sit there?
Would you like to sit there ?
4 . ‘ Will ‘ and ‘ Would ‘ both are used to offer something but ‘ Will ‘ is used in informal way and ‘ Would ‘ is used in more formal way .
Examples – Will you take a cup of tea ?
Would you like to take a cup of tea?
5 . ‘ Will ‘ is used to indicate some promises but ‘ Would ‘ is used to give preference.
Examples – I will take you in my team . ( Promise )
I would prefer you than any other inexperienced person in my team .
( Preference )
6 . ‘ Will ‘ is used to indicate warning but ‘ Would ‘ is used to indicate desire .
Examples – It will not be good for you, if you waste your time. ( Warning )
I would like to give a surprise . ( Desire )
7 . ‘ Will ‘ is used in First conditional statement but ‘ Would ‘ is used in Second or Third conditional statements .
