Hilly regions of West Bengal is severely affected – devastating landslide and flood – in North Bengal – districts are affected most – Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar, Coochbehar – tourism in great trouble – in the full season of tourism – due to heavy rain fall – several places  of Jalpaiguri recorded 370 mm of rainfall in one day – from October 4 to the morning of October 5 – other parts also received very high rainfall hundreds of landslides – rain ravaged – 40 people died till now-  the beautiful Mirik – seriously damaged – iron bridge collapsed at Dudhia on Balasan river –  rivers including Teesta were flowing above danger lever roads collapsed – Himalayan Railway suspended – property damaged – tourists stuck in hotels and wildlife zones – many people and tourists – rescued – almost 18500 hectares of land damaged – administration engaged – disaster team and response force engaged – Army and NDRF joined State agencies – relief arranged – compensation amount of Rupees five lakh to the family of victims – job of home guard of State Police to one member of family – announced by the State Government of West Bengal
