Dadasaheb Phalke Award – Mithun Chakraborty, a veteran actor from West Bengal, achieved the Dadasaheb Phalke Award this year. This is the highest award in the segment of Indian films and cinemas. He will be honored on 8th October at the 70th National Film Awards for his contribution to Indian cinema. Previously he achieved three National Film Awards for his role in Disco Dancer and Mrigaya. Mrigaya (1976 )is his first film . Few of his famous films are Mrigaya, Disco Dancer, Dance Dance, Agneepath, Pyar Jhukta Nahin,etc. The award was first given in 1969 and the first recipient of this award was Devika Rani. Mithun Chakraborty is the 54th recipient of the award.
