D. Gukesh – Youngest ever Chess World Champion from India



D. Gukesh, the youngest ever to win the World Chess Championship by defeating Ding Liren, from China on Thursday , 12.12.24 in Singapore . He is just 18 years old now. D. Gukesh is now the second Indian to win the World Chess Championship after legendary Viswanathan Anand who was a five – time world champion . Gukesh earned 7.5 points against the 6.5 points of Liren to win the match. The game was really thrilling and Gukesh won the 14th game to win the match.  Previously Gary Kasparov was the youngest to win the World Chess Championship when he was 22 years of age. Now Gukesh, an Indian Grandmaster broke the record. It is really a proud moment for us.
