Cyclone Ditwah – a catastrophic tropical cyclone 🌀-  devasted form – affected Sri Lanka mainly – also in Southern part of India – landfall in Sri Lanka – caused heavy flooding – landslides in Sri Lanka – killed over 600 people – more than 200 people missing – almost 1.64 million dollar economic damage – destroyed more than 4000 homes – damaged more than 71000 homes – deadliest natural disaster in Sri Lanka – after 2004 Tsunami – declared a state of emergency in Sri Lanka – Sri Lankan Army , Navy and Air Force joined the rescue and relief work – help from different countries and organisations – India launched operation Sagar Bandhu
