Tata IPL 2022 is just over now. It was the 15th season of Indian Premier League organised under the supervision of BCCI or Board of Cricket Control in India . The tournament started on 26 March 2022 and continued to 29th may 2022. Gujarat Titans participated for the first time in this tournament and completed their journey as the champion of the season. This time 10 teams from the different parts of the country were participated in the tournament . After the completion of the group stage Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals qualified for the Qualifier 1 and Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru qualified for the Eliminator round. All the group stages game were played in Maharashtra at Mumbai and Pune. In Qualifier 1 Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals to qualify for the final and in Eliminator Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Lucknow Super Giants . Both the matches were played in Eden Gardens ,Kolkata . In Qualifier 2 Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru to qualify for the final match . The final was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium ,Ahmedabad. After batting first Rajasthan Royals scored 135/ 9 in 20 overs and Gujarat Titans finished the game by scoring 133 /3 in 18.1 overs. The skipper of the Gujarat Titans Hardik Pandya was announced as the Man of the Match in the final. Jos Buttler from Rajasthan Royals became the Player of the Series and also received the Aramco Orange Cap , for scoring most runs in the tournament (863 runs ) . He also won the Dream11 Game Changer of the Season award. He was also awarded with the Unacademy Let’s Crack It sixes of the Season, for most sixes and he was also awarded with the Rupay on the Go Fours of the Season award for the most fours in the tournament. Yuzvendra Chahal from Rajasthan Royals was awarded with the Aramco Purple Cap by receiving most wickets in the tournament ( 27 wickets). Umran Malik from Sunrisers Hyderabad was awarded as the Emerging Player of the Season award. Evin Lewis from Lucknow Super Giants was awarded the Perfect Catch of the Season award . Swiggy Instant Fasted Delivery of the Season award was provided to Lockie Ferguson from Gujarat Titans. Punch Super Striker of the Season award was awarded to Dinesh Kartik from Royal Challengers Bangalore . Jos Buttler was also awarded with the CRED Power Player of the Season award and Upstox Most Valuable Player of the Season awaward.
