First ever ICC World Test Championship is over now. We have got our first ever ICC World Test Champion – New Zealand, after a two years of clash among nine teams – India, New Zealand, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh. The Championship started on 1st August, 2019 with the Ashes Series between England and New Zealand and ended on 23rd June, 2021 . The final was played between India and New Zealand from 18th June to 23rd June in Rose Bowl, Southampton, England. The third place has been taken by Australia. Kane Williamson has led New Zealand as skipper and Virat Kohli has led India as skipper in the final. Marnus Labuschagne from Australia has scored the highest runs ( 1675 runs) in the Championship and Ravichandran Ashwin from India, has taken the highest numbers of wickets (71 wickets) in the Championship. New Zealand has won the Championship by 8 wickets against India . New Zealand has scored 249 in first innings and 140/2 in second innings. India has scored 217 in first innings and 170 in second innings. Ajinkya Rahane has scored highest runs in first innings (49 runs) and Rishabh Pant has scored highest runs in second innings (41 runs ) , Mohammad Shami has taken highest wickets (4 wickets ) in first innings and Ravichandran Ashwin has taken highest wickets (2 wickets ) in second innings for India. David Conway has scored highest runs (54 runs) in first innings and Kane Williamson has scored highest runs (52 not out) in second innings, Kyle Jemieson has taken highest wickets (5 wickets) in first innings and Tim Southee has taken highest wickets (4 wickets) in second innings for New Zealand. Kyle Jemieson from New Zealand was announced Man of the Match for the final. He has taken total 7 wickets in this match.
