SKOCH Award – West Bengal Government secured top position nationally – in the education sector – SKOCH State of Governance Report 2021- Banglar Shiksha 3.0 and Banglar Ucchashiksha- transform the educational landscape in West Bengal – This award started in 2003 – by SKOCH group- award provided for efforts – in digital, finance, social inclusion, governance, inclusive growth, technology and applications and corporate leadership – West Bengal stood first in 2018 also – for past 4 years ranking in top 3 – award will be conferred on 18th June, 2022- in New Delhi – Star of Governance SKOCH Award.

Piyali Basak and her achievement –
Piyali Basak- first Indian woman- created history- by scaling Mount Everest ( 8848.86 m ) , the highest peak- almost without supplementary oxygen – within two days also climbed Mount Lhotse ( 8516 m ) -professionally a primary school teacher from Chandannagar ,Hugli district , West Bengal – she is also the first woman to climb Mount Dhaulagiri ( 8167 metres )without oxygen support – participated in a major mountaineering expedition in Nepal Himalaya – climbed Mount Manasulu (8163 metres,,) – represented India in an international expedition to mount Annapurna(8091 metres) from March 25 to April 25 20 21.

Tara Air plane crash- in Nepal- all passenger died – including 4 Indian – went down in northern Nepal -at the base of the Manapathi Peak in Mustang District – a small plane – a turboprop Twine Otter 9N – AET plane – carrying 22 people – 13 Nepali passengers and 3 Nepali crew, 2 Germans, 4 Indians – started journey from tourist town of Pokhara – at 9:55 am ( local time ) on 29th May, 2022 – going towards popular tourist and pilgrimage site, Jomson – lost contact withair traffic control – the plane was on for 20 minutes of flight – Nepal Government operated the rescue work – all 22 bodies recovered – Investigation started
