NIFT Artisan Admission –

Eligibility Requirements –

For Bachelor Programmes –

Age – Age – Maximum age should be less than 24 years as on 1st August. 5 years age relaxation for SC, ST, PWD.

Educational Qualification –

Bachelor of Design –

10+2 passed from any recognised Board or Council in India.

or

A pass grade in the Senior Secondary Examination of National Open School with at least 5 subjects.

or

Any Public School / Board / University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as 10+2 system .

or

3 or 4 years diploma recognised by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education.

and

Artisan or Ward of Artisan can seek admission in this category on submission of Artisan card issued to self / father / mother by the Development Commissioner (Handicraft ) , or Development Commissioner
( Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India . The card holder should be practising artisan / weaver at least last 5 years of self and at least 10 years in case the card bearers are parents of the applicants.


Examination – They will be selected based on –

1 . Studio Test – 70 marks – To test creative ability and basic 3-D modelling ability ( using 3-d modelling clay ) or other materials.

2. Personal Interview – 30 marks.

Window to update or edit the application form – January

Studio Test and Personal Interview in NIFT Campus – April

Result – Last week of April

Seat allocation , allotment of Programmes and Campus – May
